How is the dog park being paid for?

Acton Community Dog Park is funded through the generosity of many:

  • The Stanton Foundation, through its Canine Welfare programs, has provided a $25K grant to cover design costs, and has also committed an additional $250K to park construction.
  • A Stanton Foundation-required $25K Town construction match was awarded at Acton's 2021 Annual Town Meeting.
  • Residents have contributed close to $15K through fundraising efforts organized by the Friends of Acton Community Dog Park, with a goal of raising $40K. Be sure to watch this site or our Facebook page for updates.
  • The "Friends" will be seeking donations of goods and materials, such as benches, water stations, groundskeeping tools, and the like as park construction commences.
  • We have also received $100K in Community Preservation Act funds, 50% of which come from the State.

Can you contribute?
